Outside Edge Hockey Development is pleased to announce that due to demand we are expanding our programming to include a new ’04 Spring Program. This program will be focused on development and skills progression through a series of highly customized Development Camps, coupled with an option to play in a tournament.
All interested players should register online. The program will run with 15 skaters and 2 goalies and will cap at 18 skaters and 3 goalies. While this program is predominantly being held as a Spring Program, we are holding the first session on November 11, 2015 to evaluate skaters and goalies and assess development areas best suited to the participating athletes. The program will be customized to address the skills identified in the November 11th session as greatest opportunities for further skills progression.
This program will feature:
30 hours of on ice training (Various rinks in HRM)
15 hours of off ice training (Outside Edge Training Facility)
4.5 hours of video/chalk talk (Outside Edge Training Facility)
There are still a number of spaces available for Pee Wee AAA and Major Bantam players in our In-Season Off-Ice Training Program.
This program is designed to maximize off-ice Key Performance Indicators that are recognized as being the most important attributes for hockey players. The in-season program features two groups of 4 athletes in each session. Sessions are designed and run by Chris Pierce and Natalie Longraphy. Chris and Natalie maintain a 4 to 1 athlete to instructor ratio throughout most aspects of the in-season program.
Outside Edge’s staff and athletes would like to send out a huge CONGRATULATIONS to Shane Bowers who has been named to Hockey Canada’s Under 17 Program.
Shane has trained off-ice in the Outside Edge Elite Training program for the past 6 years. During this time, Shane has been extremely committed to hard work and continuous learning, training between 4 and 5 days a week year round. We are extremely proud of the dedication and commitment that Shane has displayed through our program.
In addition to his personal gains and achievements over the past 6 years, Shane has been an excellent leader to many of our younger participants as he’s helped us on-ice and off-ice in various camps and sessions.
Shane is currently playing as a rookie for the Waterloo Blackhawks in the USHL. He will be leaving his team for a couple weeks at the end of October to join one of Team Canada’s 3 squads to compete in the International Under 17 tournament hosted in Dawson Creek and Fort St John.
Chris and Cari along with our instructors and our current and past athletes will all be cheering for Shane as Team Canada hits the ice in November.
Way to go Shane! Keep working hard, stay focused, and be your best!

Outside Edge Hockey Development is very pleased to announce that our Preferred Partner, ACCEL Physiotherapy, is offering a preferred rate (45% discount) on Baseline Concussion Testing to all athletes who are currently participating or have previously participated in an Outside Edge Hockey Development or Outside Edge Elite Training program.
Baseline Concussion testing is highly recommended by Outside Edge as it is the most effective way to ensure your young athlete can be diagnosed accurately after a head injury. This facilitates an accurate diagnosis, an objective measurement to use in prognosis, and the quickest possible return to sport after a head injury.
We are very pleased to be working with ACCEL Physiotherapy to deliver opportunities such as Baseline Concussion Testing and strongly encourage all of our athletes to take advantage of this program!
In order to take advantage of this offer, you must attend our free Baseline Concussion Testing presentation on October 19th, 2015 at ACCEL Physiotherapy or email Cari to make an alternative arrangement. More Information

Outside Edge Elite Training is built on the philosophy that every athlete is unique! In order for each individual athlete to reach their potential, they must be challenged physically and mentally in a program that recognizes their personal strengths and weaknesses.
Outside Edge Elite Trainingis committed to providing personal and small group programs. Although there are fundamental aspects to various segments of each program, there is also room for specialization in each individual’s routines.
The program that Chris builds for each athlete or small group is designed to help the individual or participants gain confidence in their physical and mental capabilities.
