CHRIS PIERCE – Director – Program Development
Chris is coaching the Chebucto Pee Wee AAA team this season as well as running the In Season On and Off-ice development for Outside Edge.
Chris has developed the Outside Edge Training Program over the past 6 years. It has evolved from a team based training program to a focus on small groups and personal training. Chris has drawn on his education and experience in playing and coaching hockey as the foundation for the program.
Chris Majored in Biology and Psychology at Saint Mary’s University and is a Certified Personal Trainer. Chris is a graduate from the Maritime Junior ‘A’ Hockey League and was also called up to the Sherbrooke Faucons of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League during his second year of Major Midget. Chris understands the physical and mental demands put on hockey players who are competing at the top levels for their age. He has been actively involved in coaching minor hockey and instructing off-ice training for the past 18 years.
PAUL STROPLE – Director – Hockey Development
Paul is currently coaching the Chinese Women’s Olympic Development Program. He is committed to this position for 2 years but will be returning in April as a lead instructor in the Outside Edge Spring programs.
Paul has 25 years of hockey coaching experience at the national and international levels. He started his hockey career as a player in the Spryfield Minor Hockey Association, moving on to play Major Midget with Dartmouth Chevies and Jr A with Halifax Lions. Paul has experience playing on the Nova Scotia Canada Games team and finished his hockey career playing pro hockey in Europe.
Paul has coached at all levels of minor hockey, junior hockey, has instructed at numerous hockey schools and has coached at the professional level in Europe. Paul has had success in developing hockey players in order to prepare them for the next level of competition. He has coached numerous players that have since gone on to play professional hockey, in QMJHL and for various University teams.
Paul proudly coached China’s Women’s National Hockey Team allowing them to qualify for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, Canada.
CARI DUGGAN-MACNEIL – Director – Operations
Cari joined Outside Edge Elite Training in 2015. Cari holds an MBA in Marketing/HR and Bachelor of Commerce from Saint Mary’s University. Cari is also a Certified Personal Trainer and Certified Yoga Instructor. In addition, Cari is a certified Project Manager (PMP) and attended Queens University and Dalhousie University for Advanced Negotiation Training. Cari has been actively involved in assisting off-ice training for the past 2 years and has been managing minor hockey teams, off-ice programs, and spring teams for the past 6 years.
